1. Ask your doctor’s office or clinic about ways to reduce prescription costs. • Is there a pharmacy at your health center/physicians office? • Are free samples available? • Is this prescription for the generic medication? • Are there pharmacies, grocery or department stores in the area that offer discounts? • Can a social worker assist me?
2.Sign up and print out the Missouri Drug Card that is free and provides savings of up to 75% on prescriptions drugs with an average savings of around 30%. Program is open to every resident of the state. There are no income limitations, no age restrictions, and no applications to fill out. www.missouridrugcard.com
3.Go online and take the name of the drug you’re interested in and add ‘.com’. For example, if you’re interested in Lipitor, you would type lipitor.com. This should take you directly to the manufacturer’s website, which will give you credible information on coupons and/or assistance that is available.
