1. Ask your doctor’s office or clinic about ways to reduce prescription costs. • Is there a pharmacy at your health center/physicians office? • Are free samples available? • Is this prescription for the generic medication? • Are there pharmacies, grocery or department stores in the area that offer discounts? • Can a social worker assist me? 

2.Sign up and print out the Missouri Drug Card that is free and provides savings of up to 75% on prescriptions drugs with an average savings of around 30%. 3.Go online and take the name of the drug you’re interested in and add ‘.com’. For example, if you’re interested in Lipitor, you would type lipitor.com. This should take you directly to the manufacturer’s website, which will give you credible information on coupons and/or assistance that is available.

Enrollment for an individual is $20 a year or $35 a year for families. Additional adult family members living in the same household, like a parent or grandparent, need to enroll separately at the individual rate

COVID-19: The COVID Care Recovery Fund offers fianancial assistance of $500 for individuals currently diagonsed with COVID-19 or diagnosed within the past 6 months. St. Vincent DePaul Society Rx Outreach – Free Meds Voucher Program to Clients Must be referred to SVDP by local parish to be considered a client. Can get up to a 90-day prescriptions filled with a voucher. Call 211 to find the SSVDP parish-based conference in your area.

Patient assistance programs (PAPs) are programs set up by drug companies that offer free or low cost drugs to individuals who are unable to pay for their medication. All of the major drug companies have patient assistance programs, although every company has different eligibility and application requirements. Companies offer these programs voluntarily; the government does not require them to provide free medicine.
